Making Money Online!

Times are tough, there are no disputing that. I’ve recently been doing a lot of reading, and as usual, picking one author and reading everything they write. This time, my selection was Malcolm Gladwell, after reading Mr. Gladwell’s work, I have settled that on “Outliers” as his only real master work. Gladwell seems some interesting inferences in his work, and mainly its about the breaks that people have and the advantages that they are allowed. According to the author, there are no real coincidences, only good hard work. However, he makes a valid point, and that is seizing upon opportunity.

Its in a down economy that we learn a lot of things, and the first being that it is an opportunity. Fortunes are made when people take risks, when the time is not exactly right. Its owning and starting a business that allows us to really gain that consistent income that we all seek, not being dependent upon another. Its not that it is a huge risk, rather it is a shift in thinking. The shift is in responsibility level, you are responsible for if something gets done or not, and the success of others. It is the shift in responsibility that is difficult more most people to handle. You are the cause of your universe, and thats too much for some people; I think its exhilarating.

Its in a down economy, that many people get downsized, that’d the luckiest break that they can possibly have. They can be set free from the bondage that their life of being at the effect of their J-O-B places them at. It is super important to think big picture, many people miss that.

The internet is rapidly growing, and hit $1.5 trillion last year. I’m not sure about you, but I’d like to make even 1/3 of a percent of that every year. I think we can all agree that the internet is not going anywhere at all. With such a huge marketplace out there, why not make it work for you? The time is right to own a piece of the internet, I’m so happy I made that choice to Franchise. Now I can gain off of this huge, rolling title wave that is coming in internet retailing. People are going to shop anyway, why not help them do it and profit off it as well? That’s a win for everyone and a no brainer if you ask me.

Desire Change, Take no Action

The world is an interesting place, its full of people fed up with their lives. The funny part is, a lot are comfortable with their situation. I’ve heard it said before, that the definition of Insanity, is doing the same thing and expecting different results. If things have not changed up until this point, then what makes you think they will be any different?

Big actions equal big results, like actions produce the same or not results. It’s really about changing your thinking, and in all honesty, reading Robert Kyosaki made a huge different for me. Yes, it seems cliche, but the man is a genius. We all have wants and needs, but the difference in people that have money versus those that do not is a lot of mindset.

There is a trap, and its called the middle class trap, its a lot of wants we all want the house, we all want the car the family; those are all beautiful things. There is an order of magnitude to obtaining them.

It usually works like this; you start buying all those things, and you need more hours to keep supporting that life. Eventually you pile up the debt, and run out of hours. You have to keep working to keep it up, slip up, and bankruptcy is calling.

How do people do it? Its knowing the difference between an asset and a liability. A liability is something that costs you, and an asset is something that generates and ongoing revenue to pay you over time. I’m sorry to say it, but a house is not your biggest asset, its your biggest liability. A true asset takes little to nothing to maintain. A house costs you in repairs, it can depreciate and to have a house, you have to pay property taxes.

How do you make things easier? You do not live off your paycheck! You have to create enough assets, or things that pay you with or without your own effort. That is how you do it the smart way.

If your first question is “How much does it pay?” Then, you are asking the wrong question. The right question is “Based upon my time investment, how much can I make it pay?”

So, I want to clear something up here: its not about making money off other people, that’s morally wrong. Sure, robber barons have done it for centuries, but there was not real ethic level there.

What if there’s a way that you can get paid to help other people? Is there a catch? Of course there is, everything has its stipulations. You only make money if the people you help make money. Well, now, whether you’re ethical or not, you’re going to care a lot more about making others successful. Sounds a lot like religion right? Why can’t why all just be more ethical here?

I must say, I’ve changed a lot over the last year. For some it has become uncomfortable, for some it has been the positive change they have been waiting for. I am the same person at my essence, but with major improvements. I have become more able to confront things around me, and help to create positive action from it. I’m closer to God, to may family and I’ve become more spiritual. I’m building a future and building a life.

When you step outside of the box of what people expect of you it scares them, because they can’t step out of the box themselves. I wasn’t meant for a box, none of us were. My goal here is not to convince you of anything, rather to just help you to help yourself, whether you know you need it or not. You can join me if you like, but only if you really want change, in your life as well as your thinking. However, all the purpose of this monologue is to just to have you reach out for the data, whether it be from me or from an economic author out there.

Step out of the box, love mankind and most of all love your family.

Vitamins v. Nutraceuticals

What makes a difference between a vitamin and an advanced nutraceutical? Its an interesting concept mainly because of where my focus is with health and wellness. I recently read a great article buy Nutrametrix Consultant, Jane Santangelo, that made my faith in Isotonix even more secure. I have always cared a great deal about my clients, my friends, family and my own nutrition. Therefore it only makes sense that I want the best for them and their optimal health.

Its all in the delivery system. How does a traditional vitamin work? Well, usually it is a quite large pill, and takes up to 4 hours to enter your blood stream. Those vitamins are large, bulky, and difficult to swallow. Now, when you look at that bottle, it tells you how much of each vitamin or mineral is going into your system. The shocking part is, you are most likely only getting 25-40% of what is says on that bottle; looks like it may be time to start doubling up vitamins.

Now, you may be asking what makes Isotonix different? The difference in Isotonix is the delivery system. To be Isotonic, is to be the same pressure as body fluids, and therefore most useable to the body. When the correct amount of water is added to Isotonix, it becomes the same pressure as body fluids, and is the next best thing to using an IV every morning. When Isotonix enters your system on an empty stomach, it is in your blood stream at a rate of 95%. Which means Isotonix is not only better for you, but does more for your system.

I can honestly say that I have found the best product out there, that I can really stand behind. I always hold a strong opinion on supplements when I find a great one, and Isotonix is for real.

All Methods of Training Have a Place

Is there a traditional way to lift? If you ask many people, sure there is; I beg to differ. Today is in response to a statement that Dave Schneider made last week, that I really think hold true. It pertains to methods of training, and the knowledge of the skilled lifter. There are many, many methods of training, and each have their benifits, when taken in correct scope and also with the body of knowledge needed for success.

There always come to be a plateau in training, but there are methods to fix it, and those to build volume. Many times, we are out own worst enemies, and at times I am not any better. We get this concept in out heads that we NEED to lift heavy and if we don’t see the reps our the weight go up, then we fail into a state of depression, or where we push too hard and cause an injury. The injuries causes by this type of head case, are usually inflation ones, that we do not give proper rest to or do not supplement properly for; Isotonix OPC 3 is actually great for this type of inflammation!

So, as an experienced lifter, what does your arsenal need? There is actually a variety of things that can cause new growth, not to mention, can help ease the case of “I need to get stronger.” He who always needs to get stronger is most likely a fool, and headed for a pretty nice, most likely debilitating injury. Many of these methods, I have used on leg training, which is my specialty. I can cause growth to the legs of even the most stork-legged of a person, well except for my father.

High Reps:

High reps is actually something I was not big on until Dave introduced it to me a few years ago, and the concept makes sense, but it is not for the faint of gullet. High reps really do have their place. They are most common on arms, back and legs. I know they can be used on other body parts, but I have not done so myself to any great success; this blog is from my own experience.

High reps on squats is where I have seen the best results, usually in the range on 20-30, but keep a garbage can close. The second set, usually conducted after only 30 seconds to a minute rest, will result in a visit to the Roman Vomitorium.

This shock to muscles, helps to push them past their terrestrial boundaries, and cause some pretty explosive growth. When the body is subjected to training out of the ordinary, it usually can only make the choice to grow in order to compensate. If you’re not growing, then something is most likely wrong in your methods, re-check your premises.

Rest Pause

I like this one, but it must be used carefully, and most times only once per set, otherwise it can damage the body of the lifter. Reach failiure, replace the weight for 15 seconds, then resume and get closer to the goal of the set.

German Volume Training

This is like a method of pre-exhausting the muscle, another tool I like to use. A weight is usually used starting with a set of ten (a weight that can usually be used for an easy  15), then a standard increment of weight, usually ten pounds, is added to each successive set. Such training goes deep into muscle and hits fibers so deep into the tissue that are usually never touched.

This method is barely ever touch, but it is effective and one of my personal favorites.

Centuries

Love this method, which I stole a few years ago from an old Muscle and Fitness magazine (I’ll share the article in the future). The logic behind this is sets of 100, but there are a few stipulations in order to make the method work.

In a proper century, one exercise per muscle group is selected, and done in three full bodies a week, for a period of two weeks. The mothod should then be discountinued for 4 to 6 months, in order to let the body rest.

A weight should be selected, which is 30% of the lifter’s max weight for ten reps; the math is relatively easy. Then reps are performed with a goal of 100, which will most likely end somewhere around 40-60 reps. That does not mean that the end game has been reached, the weight cannot be put down, but must be left in a resting position (not put down) for ten seconds, reaching a set of ten, the sets of ten are then continued until the desired total of 100 is reached.

Anyone that remembers the meals I used to eat at work, remembers my Turkey Chili. It is an adaptation of another recipe, that is just happens to be way better. The only issue, is the use of the tomato products, which can cause a bit higher than normal sugar content. In all honesty, it’s better than what most people are eating!

I have  few different things that I substitute, as well as adding a bit more of a kick to it. I use two types of beans, black and white, as well as fresh peppers, which really add quite a bit to the dish. With all the chopping involved, I would recommend picking up a chopper to save yourself about 45 minutes!

http://www.shop.com/jrslate/226225076-o+260.xhtml

-2 Teaspoons Olive Oil (Make sure it is certified organic, there was a scam a few years ago bottling vegetable oil as Olive Oil.)

As you can tell, its got quite a bit of a kick!

3. Turn heat down to low add remaining ingredients, and slow cook for one hour.

Miami and the Perfect Business

Image

Hi everyone! There has been a bit of a lull in posting, as the last two weeks have been VERY BUSY. However, I’m sure everyone would like an update on what is going on in the world of fitness.

First of all, last weekend I went to the Market America World Conference in Miami, Florida. I must say that was one of the coolest things I have ever experience. That is with exception to seeing the Pope in person, that was still the coolest thing I’ve ever done. I made many decisions that weekend, and I must say its both nerve-racking and exciting at the same time. I think that’s how it is when you are really making decisions to change your future; the hardest part is making that postulate.

I will be concentrating a large amount of time in building my Market America business, and helping others do the same. Its a beautiful things when you really have something so different, so unique, that can actually help others obtain their dreams. As with any type of entrepreneurial work, its a slow build, but its those that are motivated and mentally strong that are rewarded in the end; I couldn’t be more excited. You too, can join in my excitement, I couldn’t be more thrilled to give that opportunity.

This company continues to amaze me! We were blown away by the star power and eloquence of Fat Joe, and new Unfranchise Owner in Market America. Later on Saturday, it was reported that Fat Joe added Jamie Foxx to his team. Also in attendance Fubu founder and Shark Tank star, Daymond John. It never ceases to amaze me that already successful people, truly understand leverage and see the value in this business.

It’s also time to build the fitness brand, which I have never put a whole-hearted effort into, it’s time. It’s something I have always wanted, and now I will have it. We are partnered with Intrepid Strength and Conditioning LMS, 38 Station Rd. Sparta, NJ, allowing for more freedom in the new location. There is also I powerlifting training system in development, soon to be released, involving a three-tiered system to powerlifting, benching and squatting.

Those that have followed my personal training career closely, understand that for the last 4-5 years I have been developing a program I only use with my most committed bulking clients, which I call “Sets of Ten.” Well, it needs a better name, because that name fails to describe any real thing about the system. I have decided that it is time to codify the system. I’m going to start putting it into book for, seeing that I have spent so much time on it, and it is so specialized. The next challenge will be in finding a fitness publisher. Big things are in store; more workout stats and tips to follow.

What is Positive Failure?

Positive failure is an interesting concept, though it may not sound as though failure is a positive. Positive failure is when a muscle group fails not from being tired, but because it no longer has the force in order to create the desired effort. Positive failure is a great way for growth. All too often, the typical weight lifter exhausts his body to the point that it is no longer able to grow.  Typically, a workout style such as Max-OT will do this,

Extra sets done ad infinitum do not really encourage muscle growth, but when performed consistently.  In reality the concept of hypertrophy, or working a muscle past the point it is tired will cause muscle break down. It is always important to change it up, and hypertrophy in small quantities, can cause growth. When done consistently is can set you back.

Now, I do not want an individual to read this, and come to the conclusion to lift as heavy as possible, with total disregard for safety. Positive failure is about the proper warm up style, proper overload and consistent safety. Every rep should be a quality rep. If you wish to learn more about this concept, since there is a lot to it, feel free to contact me or to schedule a training session.

 Happy Lifting,

                         JR

What is Leverage in a “Business-Sense?”

‘You’re making money off me!’

It’s been said before; ‘You’re making money off me!’ Welcome to the real world, people always make money off of others. In the same breath, you hear the world leverage used. Well, what does it mean? To just state it here would not make very much sense, first, some background information is needed to make understandable.

                    Hours in a Week

There are 168 hours in a week, the average work week lasts about 40. Doing the math, that leaves 128 hours left in the week to do with what you wish. Hopefully, the average Homo Sapiens sleeps, we will be kind and allow 8 hours a day in order to do that. 54 hours of sleep, to keep people from getting grumpy, and now there are 72 hours left. What do you do with those hours?

Anyway, all the math does not really matter, but I wanted to make a point: as an individual, you can only work so many hours a week. Right out of the gate, I want to tell you that scarcity is a myth, you have as much time as you decide to make. It’s  a better idea to work smarter, not harder, in reality, that is what leverage does. The more people that work at the same time, the more work that can be done; its a wonderful concept.

The CEO Wears All Hats…

If you look at a traditional business, there are different levels of management, as well as different jobs, from a secretary to a CFO. Imagine if a CEO was responsible for doing everything in a company? It would not work he would run out of time and he would fail, there is no way around it. A company hires people to do multiple jobs in order to produce more revenue: they are making money off you! What if you could leverage that same power for yourself, in an ethical way and help others?

                      The Franchise

A franchise takes a successful idea and sells the system to people that have the entrepreneurial spirit. it may be too difficult to go out on your own without a system, and that is where the franchise is a beautiful thing! There is a downside to that, and that is franchise fees. Most charge you a pretty hefty sum for the use of their idea, but they created it, so more power to them. What if there was an ‘unfranchise?’ You’re in luck, there is…
